The ThinkGeek Overlords are seeking an eCommerce Purchasing Manager to help us with our prime directive in becoming the World's Most E-tailer. You will be responsible for heading up a centralized Inventory Purchasing Department which will oversee the management and replenishment of product inventory, while simultaneously enjoying what you are doing and working hard to make ThinkGeek a better place.

Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Heading up a team to manage and replenish 5000+ SKUs
- Working closely with our team of merchandisers & buyers
- Developing year long inventory strategies and daily inventory management processes
- Managing daily replenishment issues interfacing with finance & our fulfillment center
- Managing Inventory obsolescence processes and controls
- Strongly focusing on general and seasonal forecasting
- Working with vendors on cost and material efficiencies
- Being an architect AND a builder. You will engineer inventory strategies, and also help to build and excecute on the processes.
- Managing People - You will head up a team of inventory specialists
Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent
- 4-6 years experience as a Purchasing Manager in a retail environment
- 2-3 years as a buyer in a retail environment
- Detailed experience with statistics, trending, forecasting, seasonality, & supply-chain management
- Experience directly managing people
- Negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Highly detail oriented and organized
- Excellent person-to-person skills
- Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills required
- Strong computer and internet use skills
- An understanding of Internet & Geek Culture. An ability to Grok ThinkGeek.
- Willing to occasionally travel to visit our warehouse when needed.
- Must be willing to play with a pile of gadgets and gizmos in the quest for Perfect Inventory Management (PIM).
