The ThinkGeek Overlords are seeking an eCommerce Purchasing Manager to help us with our prime directive in becoming the World's Most E-tailer. You will be responsible for heading up a centralized Inventory Purchasing Department which will oversee the management and replenishment of product inventory, while simultaneously enjoying what you are doing and working hard to make ThinkGeek a better place.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

• Heading up a team to manage and replenish 5000+ SKUs
• Working closely with our team of merchandisers & buyers
• Developing year long inventory strategies and daily inventory management processes
• Managing daily replenishment issues interfacing with finance & our fulfillment center
• Managing Inventory obsolescence processes and controls
• Strongly focusing on general and seasonal forecasting
• Working with vendors on cost and material efficiencies
• Being an architect AND a builder. You will engineer inventory strategies, and also help to build and excecute on the processes.
• Managing People - You will head up a team of inventory specialists

Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent
• 4-6 years experience as a Purchasing Manager in a retail environment
• 2-3 years as a buyer in a retail environment
• Detailed experience with statistics, trending, forecasting, seasonality, & supply-chain management
• Experience directly managing people
• Negotiation skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Highly detail oriented and organized
• Excellent person-to-person skills
• Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills required
• Strong computer and internet use skills
• An understanding of Internet & Geek Culture. An ability to Grok ThinkGeek.
• Willing to occasionally travel to visit our warehouse when needed.
• Must be willing to play with a pile of gadgets and gizmos in the quest for Perfect Inventory Management (PIM).
