Video Producer

SUMMARY

The ThinkGeek Overlords are in search of a Video Producer to create videos that present our products and company culture in a fun and authentic way. This role plays a key part in ThinkGeek’s voice and brand. You'll have an opportunity to join our Creative Services Team, a small, close-knit group of designers, photographers, and writers, who take pride in delivering high-quality work on a limited budget. You should be able to tell a story in 30 seconds or less, work quickly while staying organized, and be driven to bring products to life in playful and informative ways.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shoot short videos for our website, social media, and other platforms, showcasing product features and company culture.
  • Own the entire video production process from script to upload, and everything in between.
  • Collaborate with the rest of our eight-member creative team, incorporating photography and graphics as needed for key product launches.
  • Proactively and independently propose new video concepts, content, or formats, and follow through with them.
  • Identify and track key metrics pertaining to video performance and adapt accordingly.
  • Monitor and maintain our YouTube Channel.
  • Organize and maintain video studio and equipment.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years relevant experience
  • Proficient in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere, and shooting on a DSLR.
  • Have a style that's fun, playful, and witty.
  • Decent writing skills in order to convey scripts, concepts, or monthly reports.
  • Understanding of both studio and narrative video formats.
  • Meticulous, organized, and technically proficient.
  • Ability to intuitively learn and adapt to new software or latest technical standards.
  • Strong ability to work autonomously, but also collaborate when necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to hit firm deadlines.
  • Understanding of basic Photoshop, motion graphics, and typography.
  • Understanding of studio lighting.
  • Interest in geek culture, internet culture, technology, social media, and e-commerce.
  • Great at getting coworkers, friends, and strangers to be in videos.

PREFERRED

  • Experience with live streaming.
  • Experience with motion graphics and visual effects in Adobe After Effects or similar.
  • Experience with cinematic lighting and camera motion.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and video techniques: 360 cameras, drones, GoPros, gyro stabilization, time lapse, boomerangs.
  • Graphic design experience
  • Ability to be on-screen talent
