Multi-channel Operations and Logistics Manager

Working with general supervision, the Multichannel Operations and Logistics Manager is responsible for leading the operations, logistics and sales support team. Maintains process, communications, and data required for efficient supply chain operations.  As new product is our life-blood, the associate in the role will have a direct impact on the organizations growth engine.  Through effective process and freight management, the role will increase the overall financial efficiency by utilizing strong relationships with operations, marketing, product management, sales, and technology. The associate interacts with his or her director occasionally during the week, to receive guidance and feedback. Many non-routine activities will require a director’s advance approval.


  • Serves as the primary communications gateway between external distribution centers and ThinkGeek and GameStop internal teams
  • Responsible for the operational monitoring and reporting of inbound shipping operations
  • Effective order and freight management to ensure on-time and cost effective delivery of product
  • Creation of inbound volume and thru-put forecasts
  • Supports ThinkGeek’s multi-channel strategy through operational management of open inventory purchase orders and drop ship operations
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting to the Marketing, Merchandising, and Wholesale teams around product arrival and availability
  • Manages creation, distribution, and training of vendor routing guides
  • Provides support to the outbound shipping operations team through performance monitoring of logistics centers
  • Monitors outbound freight expense and works with merchant and operations teams to optimize
  • Manages the inventory transfer process to support inter-warehouse replenishment, outbound wholesale operations, and inventory control
  • Monitors, investigates, and takes direct action on inventory discrepancies
  • Directly manage a team of sales support specialists in servicing retail customer accounts
  • Establish processes and best practices to ensure a high level of customer service, including customer onboarding, order fulfillment and tracking, and issue management.
  • Work closely with outside vendors to prepare product and freight to meet retail customer requests.
  • Communicate regularly with distribution center to establish priorities in regards to retail customer fulfillment.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years leading and developing, and managing successful operations & logistics teams and individuals
  • 3 + years of experience in project, logistics, or operations management


  • Expert knowledge of with multichannel sales and operation processes
  • Expert ability to initiate and lead medium to large scale business systems projects within the consumer goods/retail industry
  • Proficient self-motivation, creativity, and ability to work independently
  • Proficiently skilled in third party vendor management
  • Proficient sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members
  • Expert ability to direct and manage complex logistics and operational programs including strategy, execution, and reporting
  • Proficient understanding of logistics operations including procurement (PO management), inbound/outbound operations, freight, landed cost, and inventory management.
  • Basic understanding of small package shipping and customs management
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, especially Outlook, Word,  and Excel for managing large data sets and preparing reports; basic SQL is a bonus  
  • Expert interpersonal skills including persuasion, negotiation, leadership, and collaboration
  • Proficient collaboration skills, proven ability to form strong cross-functional relationships with varying business partners
  • Working ability to effectively recruit, hire, coach, train, develop, retain, and redirect others as needed in order to produce a successful team
  • Expert understanding of organizational politics and emotional intelligence, including the ability to remain calm under cross-functional pressure and to navigate emotionally-charged conversations skillfully
  • Expert relational acumen, including the ability to conduct difficult conversations productively, to identify and leverage key relationships throughout the organization, and to put others’ interests ahead of his or her own
  • Expert understanding of conflict management, including negotiation and consensus building
  • Experience with warehouse/shipping administration, EDI, or order fulfillment preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the home goods, pop culture, and/or video gaming industries
  • Written/verbal communication and presentation skills using spoken English
  • Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
